Charles Eugene Rogers

	Charles Eugene Gene Rogers, age 84, of Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Friday, August 1, 2003 at Arlington Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
	He was born April 5, 1919 in Du Quoin, the son of Charles and Elsina (Purdy) Rogers, who preceded him in death.  He graduated from Southern Illinois University, Class of 1941, with his B.A. degree in English.  He then served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Company for more than 40 years, retiring in 1982.  While there, he held several positions, primarily serving as Director of Labor Relations.  Hew as a member of Worthington United Methodist Church.
	Gene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lucille Pete Rogers; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Debbie Rogers and David and Tammie Rogers, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Dustin and Jennifer Rogers; brother and sister-in-law, George Bernard and Esther Rogers of Rochester, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
	A memorial service was held Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington, OH.  Rev. Alan Sipple officiated.  A reception immediately followed the service.
	Private interment was held for the family at a later date.
